Ludmila Kopylova - Melas:

Ludmila Nikandrovna Kopylova (maiden name Cherepnina) was born in Leningrad (now St.Petersburg) in February 14, 1946. She graduated from a secondary school specialized in philosophy in 1963 and enter to the faculty of geology of Leningrad State University (now St. Petersburg State University). After completing the university course she worked in the St. Petersburg State University from 1968 till 1996 and deserved PhD degree in geology in 1987. In 1996- 2006 she worked in the European University in St.Petersburg as a secretary of economical faculty. Then she organized a small private firm and worked there up to her death.

In 1991 she was married with professor Viatcheslav Melas. And in 1993-2013 she made a lot of computer work for organization of 1st 7th International Workshops on Simulation. In fact, she was a shadow secretary of the whole series of workshops. She invented a very convenient form of the conference shedule, prepared all invitation letters and helped to convert many contributions in the required form. But personelly she visited only the last workshop in Rimini.

Ludmila was a nice personality with a wide field of interests. With her husband she many times visited Germany, France, Italy, Greece and the Netherlands. She liked painting, literature, theatre, music. All her friends and relatives were admired by her energy and intellectual activity.
